The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Ruin is for the defrauders. (Those who measure less.) 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 but, when they measure for them or weigh for them, do skimp. 3 Do they not realize that they will be resurrected 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The day when everyone will stand before the Lord Of The Creation. 6 Nay! Surely the record of the wicked is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 It is a Book inscribed. 9 Woe on that Day to those who belied it, 10 Those who belie the Day of Requital. 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 When Our Signs are rehearsed to him, he says, "Tales of the ancients!" 13 Nay, but that which they have earned is rust upon their hearts. 14 Nay! most surely they shall on that day be debarred from their Lord. 15 Then indeed they have to enter hell. 16 Further, it will be said to them: "This is the (reality) which ye rejected as false! 17 Nay, but the record of the righteous is in 'Illiyin - 18 And what will make thee know whatsoever the record in Illiyun is? 19 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 20 To which bear witness those Nearest (to Allah). 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 [resting on couches, they will look up [to God]: 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given to drink of pure wine, sealed. 25 The seal thereof will be of musk. And to this end let the aspirers aspire 26 a wine whose mixture is Tasnim, 27 A spring, from (the waters) whereof drink those Nearest to Allah. 28 Behold, the wicked were wont to laugh at the believers: 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them they said: Lo! these have gone astray. 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 On high couches, gazing. 35 Will not the infidels pay for what they had done? 36
