The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
Woe unto the defrauders: 1 those who, when they are to receive their due from [other] people, demand that it be given in full 2 And who, when they measure unto them or weigh for them, diminish. 3 Think they not that they will be resurrected (for reckoning), 4 On a Great Day, 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed! The record of the wicked is in the Sijjin -- 7 And what do you know, how (wretched) the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a written book. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 those who deny the Day of Judgement. 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 By no means! Aye! encrusted upon their hearts is that which they have been earning. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 Then indeed, they will [enter and] burn in Hellfire. 16 and they will be told, "This is what you were wont to belie." 17 No indeed! Verily, the deeds of the virtuous shall be in the record of the exalted ones. 18 But how will you comprehend what 'Illiyun is? 19 It is [their destination recorded in] a register inscribed 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Surely the pious shall be in bliss, 22 On couches, gazing, 23 thou knowest in their faces the radiancy of bliss 24 They will be given a drink of pure wine whereon the seal [of God] will have been set, 25 whose seal is musk -- so after that let the strivers strive -- 26 Blended with the water of Tasnim, (heights ultimate of evolution), 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And wink one to another when they passed them; 30 And when they returned to their own followers they returned exulting. 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 as they (recline) upon their couches and gaze (around them). 35 The infidels have indeed been rewarded for that which they had been doing. 36
