The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 when they measure against the people, take full measure 2 But when they measure out to others or weigh out for them, they are deficient. 3 Do they not think that they will be called to account?- 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The Day when mankind will stand before the Lord of the Universe? 6 No! Indeed, the record of the wicked is in sijjeen. 7 Ah! what will convey unto thee what Sijjin is! - 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, on that Day, to those who reject, 10 Those who deny the Day of Justice. 11 And none belieth it save each trespasser, sinner. 12 When Our communications are recited to him, he says: Stories of those of yore. 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Yes indeed – they will be deprived of seeing their Lord on that day. 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 Then shall it be said: This is what you gave the lie to. 17 But, the record of the righteous is [preserved] in the 'Illiyyin -- 18 and what will make you understand what the 'Illiyyin is? -- 19 It is a Book inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Lo! the righteous verily are in delight, 22 upon couches gazing; 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They will be given pure wine to drink, which is kept preserved, sealed. 25 The sealing of it is (with) musk; and for that let the aspirers aspire. 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 Indeed the guilty used to laugh at the believers. 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 and when they returned to their own people, they would speak of them jestingly; 31 And when they saw them, they said: Most surely these are in error; 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 But on this Day the Believers will laugh at the Unbelievers: 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Have the disbelievers [not] been rewarded [this Day] for what they used to do? 36
