The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
Woe unto the scrimpers: 1 who demand of other people full measure for themselves, 2 but when they measure or weigh, give less. 3 Do such (men) not consider that they will be raised again 4 For a tremendous Day - 5 The day on which men shall stand before the Lord of the worlds? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 Would that you knew what Sijin is!? 8 It is a comprehensively written Book (of records). 9 Woe, that Day, to those who deny [(Allah, His Angels, His Books, His Messengers, the Day of Resurrection, and Al-Qadar (Divine Preordainments)]. 10 Who give the lie to the day of judgment. 11 And none can deny it except every transgressor beyond bounds, (in disbelief, oppression and disobedience of Allah, the sinner!) 12 When Our verses are recited to him, he says, "Legends of the former peoples." 13 No! Their own deeds have cast a veil over their hearts. 14 No! Indeed, from their Lord, that Day, they will be partitioned. 15 and then, behold, they shall enter the blazing fire 16 Then it will be said: 'this is that which ye were wont to belie.' 17 Indeed the record of the virtuous is in the highest place, the Illiyin. 18 And what do you know what the Record of the exalted ones is? 19 It is a written book, 20 which those angels closest to God will bear witness to. 21 The righteous shall indeed be blissful, 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 They will be given pure wine out of sealed containers 25 The seal thereof will be Musk: And for this let those aspire, who have aspirations: 26 And admixture thereof will be Water of Tasnim: 27 a fountain at which those brought near (to their Lord) drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And when they passed by them, they would exchange derisive glances. 30 And when they returned to their own people, they would return jesting; 31 And when they saw them, they said: "They have indeed gone astray." 32 Whereas they were not sent over them as watchers. 33 So today the believers are laughing at the unbelievers, 34 seated upon their couches, they are looking around. 35 Did not the disbelievers get repaid for what they used to do? 36
