The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Woe to the stinters; 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 but when they have to measure or weigh whatever they owe to others, give less than what is due! 3 Do they not know that they are bound to be raised from the dead 4 On a grievous day, 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Nay! Truly, the Record (writing of the deeds) of the Fujjar (disbelievers, sinners, evil-doers and wicked) is (preserved) in Sijjin. 7 and what shall teach thee what is Sijjin? 8 The record is a sealed text. 9 Woe on that Day unto the beliers 10 Those who deny the Day of Judgment 11 And none will deny it, except every transgressor, rebel. 12 who, when listening to Our revelations, say, "These are only ancient legends". 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Indeed! On that Day a barrier will be set between them and their Lord, 15 then they shall enter the Fire of Hell, 16 They will then be told: "This is what you had denied." 17 Nay, verily the record of the Righteous is (preserved) in 'Illiyin. 18 Ah, what will convey unto thee what 'Illiyin is! - 19 The record is a sealed text. 20 which the angels placed near Allah to safeguard. 21 Verily the virtuous shall be in Delight, 22 (reclining) upon couches they will gaze, 23 You will recognize in their faces the brightness of bliss. 24 They are made to quaff of a pure drink that is sealed (to others). 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 for it is composed of all that is most exalting 27 A spring whence those brought near (to Allah) drink. 28 Behold, the sinners were laughing at the believers, 29 And whenever they passed by them, used to wink one to another (in mockery); 30 When they returned to their people they returned jesting; 31 On seeing the believers, they would say, "These people have gone astray". 32 though they were not sent to be their keepers -- 33 Wherefore Today, those who believed at the infidels are laughing, 34 On adorned couches, observing. 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded what they were doing? 36
