The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He shall be reckoned with by an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Nay, (on the contrary), those who disbelieve, belie (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and whatever he brought, i.e. this Quran and Islamic Monotheism, etc.). 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful punishment~ 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
