The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 And he who is given his ledger in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 Will pray for death, 11 But will be roasted in the fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Nay, nay! for his Lord was (ever) watchful of him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 and the moon when it is at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
