The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must: 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Will pray for death, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 for, behold, he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
