The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 but as for him whose record shall be given to him from behind his back, 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knows best what they gather (of good and bad deeds), 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
