The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky has split [open] 1 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 he shall surely receive an easy reckoning 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for those whose Book of records will be given behind their backs, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 for he never thought that he would have to return [to God]. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 That you will climb from stage to stage. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, but those who disbelieve will deny; 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 But for those who believe and do good works; for them there shall be a never-ending reward. 25
Allah the Almighty always says the truth.
