The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 So whoever is given his record of deeds in his right hand – 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 Behold, [in his earthly life] he lived joyfully among people of his own kind 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 So what is [the matter] with them [that] they do not believe, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
