The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Once, he lived joyfully among his family 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And the night and that which it drives on, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 you shall proceed onwards from stage to stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
True are the words of God the Almighty.
