The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the sky is rent asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But he who is given the Record behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And [by] the night and what it envelops 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 So, wherefore do they not believe? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 God is quite aware of what they are storing in their hearts. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds for them is a reward that will never end. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
