The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts out all that is within it and becomes empty; 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 will be easy, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Soon he will pray for death. 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 But no; (how would he not revert)? His Lord was ever watching him. 15 Oh, I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What, then, is amiss with them that they will not believe [in a life to come]? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them the good news of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds for them is a reward that will never end. 25
Allah Almighty has spoken the truth.
