The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And has cast out all that was in it and became empty, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 will be easy, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Record behind his back,- 10 He shall presently call for death, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Truly, did he go about among his people, rejoicing! 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and whatever it gathers in its darkness; 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 and God knows very well what they are secreting. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
