Al-Inshiqaaq
The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ WHEN THE SKY is split asunder, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 And as to him who shall be given his book from behind his back 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 He lived rejoicing among his people, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay! those who disbelieve give the lie to the truth. 22 Whereas Allah knoweth best that which they cherish. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believe and do the right: For them there is reward unending. 25
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
