۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 obeying its Lord, as it must do! 5 O Man! Thou art labouring unto thy Lord laboriously, and thou shalt encounter Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 and the night, and what it [step by step] unfolds, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 Why, when the Quran is recited to them, do they not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
