The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is stretched forth, 3 And has cast out that within it and relinquished [it] 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O thou man! Verily thou art ever toiling on towards thy Lord- painfully toiling,- but thou shalt meet Him. 6 Then, he who is given his Book in his right hand 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Will pray for death, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 Truly, did he think that he would not have to return (to Us)! 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And the moon when it grows full, 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Save those who believe and do good works, for theirs is a reward unfailing. 25
