The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And return to his people in happiness. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And enter into burning fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea! his Lord had ever been beholding him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 and when the Koran is recited to them they do not bow? ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 but God knows best whatever they accumulate in their hearts. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
