The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the sky bursts open, 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth is stretched, 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Nay, but lo! his Lord is ever looking on him! 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 and the night and what it envelops 17 and the moon, as it grows to its fullness: 18 [That] you will surely experience state after state. 19 What is wrong with them that they do not believe? 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except for those who believe and do righteous deeds. For them is a reward uninterrupted. 25
