The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the sky is torn apart, 1 And obeys its Lord and it must. 2 And when the earth is flattened out, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 and obeys its Lord as it must, 5 [then,] O man - thou [that] hast, verily, been toiling towards thy Sustainer in painful toil - then shalt thou meet Him! 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 he will in time be called to account with an easy accounting, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 and he shall roast at a Blaze. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 In fact the unbelievers disavow. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
