The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
25 verses, revealed in Mecca after Shattering (Al-Infitaar) before The Romans (Al-Room)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When heaven is rent asunder 1 And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And hath cast out all that was in her, and is empty 4 And obeys its Lord and it must. 5 O man, you have to strive and go on striving towards your Lord, then will you meet Him. 6 Then whoso is given his account in his right hand 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But as for him who is given his book behind his back, 10 he will pray for utter destruction 11 And be thrown to scorching fire. 12 He once lived among his family joyfully; 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 The Night and its Homing; 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 Surely ye shall ride layer upon layer. 19 What aileth them then, that they believe not, 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
Almighty God's Truth.
