The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed; 2 when the earth flattens out, 3 And casts forth what is in it and becomes empty, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O man, you are striving unto your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 and he shall return to his people, joyfully, 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 he will in time pray for utter destruction: 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Verily he was among his people joyous. 13 Never thinking he will return. 14 Yea indeed! His Sustainer did see all that was in him! 15 But nay! I swear by the sunset redness, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And the moon when at the full, 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they do not believe 20 and when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate themselves? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
