۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 when the earth is stretched out 3 and throws out of itself all that it contains 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 and they will return to their people, delighted 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Surely he thought that he would never return. 14 Yes indeed; his Lord had sight of him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 or by the night in which things all come together to rest, 17 or by the moon when it is full, 18 that you will certainly pass through one stage after another. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them do not bow in adoration? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 But God knows what they harbour in their breasts. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
