The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven bursts asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth is spread out. 3 And it unburdens itself of all that is in it, and becomes empty. 4 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then he who is given his Record in his right hand, 7 Will have an easy reckoning, 8 And he shall go back to his people joyful. 9 And as to him who is given his book behind his back, 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 And will go into the blazing fire. 12 Surely he was (erstwhile) joyful among his followers. 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 So I swear by the twilight glow 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And, when the Qur'an is recited unto them, worship not (Allah)? ۩ 21 In fact, they reject the Quran, 22 And Allah well knows what they conceal in their hearts. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
