The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the Name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 in obedience to the commands of their Lord which are incumbent on them, 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 But as for him whose record shall be given to him behind his back; 10 Soon will he cry for perdition, 11 They will suffer the heat of hell fire. 12 Verily, he was among his people in joy! 13 He assumed that he does not have to return. 14 Yea! surely his Lord does ever see him. 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 and by the night and what it enfolds, 17 And [by] the moon when it becomes full 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 What is the matter with them, that they believe not? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 Allah knows best what they are accumulating (in their Record). 23 So give them news of painful punishment, 24 except the righteously striving believers, who will receive a never-ending reward. 25
