The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the sky is rent asunder 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 when earth is stretched out 3 And casts forth what is within it and becomes (clean) empty, 4 in obedience to the commands of its Lord which are incumbent on it, (the human being will receive due recompense for his deeds). 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return unto his folk in joy. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 he shall call for destruction 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed he used to rejoice in his home. 13 He verily deemed that he would never return (unto Allah). 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 BUT NAY! I call to witness the sunset's [fleeting] afterglow, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 Ye shall surely travel from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 But on the contrary the Unbelievers reject (it). 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a Penalty Grievous, 24 except for those who believe and do good deeds. Theirs shall be an unending reward. 25
