The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 And it hearkeneth to its Lord, and is duteous. 2 and when the earth is leveled, 3 and casts out what is within it and is emptied, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then as to him who is given his book in his right hand, 7 He surely will receive an easy reckoning, 8 And will return to his people full of joy. 9 But whosoever is given his Record behind his back, 10 they will say, "Woe to us!" 11 And he will enter a Blazing Fire. 12 They lived among their people joyfully 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 But he will indeed! His Lord was ever watching him. 15 I do not need to swear by the sunset, 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 by the moon, in its fullness 18 That ye shall journey on from plane to plane. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and [that,] when the Qur'an is read unto them, they do not fall down in prostration? ۩ 21 Nay, but they who are bent on denying the truth give the lie [to this divine writ]! 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 Therefore give them the glad tidings of a painful punishment. 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
