The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heavens are rent asunder 1 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord, and it must needs (do so);- 2 And when the earth has been extended 3 and casts out all that is within and voids itself, 4 And hearkens to its Lord and is dutiful, 5 O mankind, indeed you are laboring toward your Lord with [great] exertion and will meet it. 6 And as for him whose record shall be placed in his right hand, 7 He truly will receive an easy reckoning 8 and will [be able to] turn joyfully to those of his own kind. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 shall cry for “perdition,” 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 Verily, he thought that he would never come back (to Us)! 14 Yes! Verily, his Lord has been ever beholding him! 15 No! I swear by the twilight 16 And by the night and all that it enshroudeth, 17 And by the moon when she becometh full. 18 you will progress from stage to stage. 19 What is the matter with them that they do not accept faith? 20 and when the Koran is recited to them that they do not prostrate! ۩ 21 Nay, but the unbelievers are crying lies, 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 So give them good tidings of a painful chastisement, 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
