The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 hearing and obeying its Lord, as it must do; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And hearkens to (the Command of) its Lord,- and it must needs (do so);- (then will come Home the full reality). 5 O human, you are working hard towards your Lord and you will meet Him. 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 shall be called to an easy accounting, 8 And he will return to his family rejoicing. 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 and will enter the Blazing Fire. 12 Indeed, he had [once] been among his people in happiness; 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 But yes! Indeed, his Lord was ever of him, Seeing. 15 I swear by the twilight; 16 by the night and all that it envelops; 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What aileth them, then, that they believe not 20 And when the Qur'an is recited to them, they do not prostrate [to Allah]? ۩ 21 Yea those who disbelieve belie. 22 And Allah is most knowing of what they keep within themselves. 23 So announce to them a painful torment. 24 But those who believe and work righteous works, theirs shall be a hire unending. 25
