The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder, 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 and when the earth is stretched out 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And has responded to its Lord and was obligated [to do so] - 5 Thou, verily, O man, art working toward thy Lord a work which thou wilt meet (in His presence). 6 Then as for he who is given his record in his right hand, 7 He will be judged with an easy account 8 and shall return to his people joyfully. 9 But he who is given his Book from behind his back 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 And shall enter a blazing Fire, and made to taste its burning. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 and had thought that they would never be brought back to life again. 14 This is a fact. Their Lord is Well-Aware of (all that they do). 15 I swear by the glow of sunset, 16 And by oath of the night and all that gathers in it. 17 And by the moon when she is at the full, 18 [even thus, O men,] are you bound to move; onward from stage to stage. 19 But what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Qur'an is read to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 In fact the disbelievers keep denying. 22 Yet God has full knowledge of what they conceal [in their hearts]. 23 (Muhammad), tell them that they will all suffer a painful torment 24 Except those who believe and do good; for them is a reward that shall never be cut off. 25
