The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is split asunder 1 obeying its Sustainer, as in truth it must; 2 And when the earth shall be stretched forth. 3 and casts forth what is in it, and voids itself, 4 And attentive to her Lord in fear! 5 O man, having striven hard towards your Lord, you shall meet Him: 6 Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand, 7 His account shall presently be taken by an easy reckoning. 8 and will return rejoicing to his family. 9 But as for he who is given his record behind his back, 10 He will cry out for destruction 11 and he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He used to be happy with his own people; 13 Verily he imagined that he would not be back. 14 Surely yes, why not? Indeed his Lord is seeing him. 15 So I do call to witness the ruddy glow of Sunset; 16 And the night and all it gathers, 17 And by the moon when it is at the full, 18 That you shall most certainly enter one state after another. 19 What is the matter with them? Why do they not believe? 20 When the Quran is read to them, why do they not fall to their knees? ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 and Allah knows very well what they gather. 23 Therefore, give them the news of a painful punishment. 24 Except to those who believe and work righteous deeds: For them is a Reward that will never fail. 25
