The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by oath of the Promised Day. 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 THEY DESTROY [but] themselves, they who would ready a pit 4 Of the fire (kept burning) with fuel, 5 When they sat by it, 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Surely thy Lord's assault is terrible. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Full of Loving-Kindness, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 the Executor of what He wills. 16 Has there reached you the story of the soldiers - 17 of Pharaoh and of Thamood? 18 Yet those who deny the truth persist in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 In fact it (what they deny) is the Noble Qur’an. 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
