The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the sky containing great stars 1 By the Promised Day! 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 Accursed be the People of the Ditch! 4 by a burning fire 5 When they sat by it, 6 And they witnessed what they were doing against the believers (i.e. burning them). 7 whom they hate for no other reason than that they believe in God, the Almighty, the One to whom all praise is due, 8 [and] to whom the dominion of the heavens and the earth belongs. But God is witness unto everything! 9 Surely those who tormented the believing men and the believing women and then did not repent, theirs shall be the chastisement of Hell, and theirs shall be the chastisement of burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Surely the might of your Lord is great. 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 and He is the Ever Forgiving, the Most Loving 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 a sovereign doer of whatever He wills. 16 Has the story reached you of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and (the tribe of) Thamud? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 inscribed on a well-guarded Tablet. 22
