The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 and by the promised Day, 2 and by the witness and what is witnessed: 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 When they sat by it 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 Whose is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness of all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 [But,] verily, they who attain to faith and do righteous deeds shall [in the life to come] have gardens through which running waters flow - that triumph most great! 11 Stern indeed is your Lord's punishment. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Throne, the All-glorious, 15 The Doer of whatever He wants. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 [Those of] Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 although Allah surrounds them. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Koran, 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
