The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 by the Witness and the witnessed, 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 with fire abounding in fuel, 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 and were witnessing what they did to the believers. 7 and their revenge on them was only because they believed in Allah, the Almighty, the Praised, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Those who persecute (or draw into temptation) the Believers, men and women, and do not turn in repentance, will have the Penalty of Hell: They will have the Penalty of the Burning Fire. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 Lo! the punishment of thy Lord is stern. 12 Surely it is He who originates, and brings again, 13 He is the forgiving and the loving, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 Performer of what He desires. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 The unbelievers are indeed engaged in denying it, calling it a lie, 19 But God surrounds them from all sides. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 In the Preserved Tablet. 22
