The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 and [of] Him who witnesses [all,] and [of] that unto which witness is borne [by Him]! 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 Fire supplied (abundantly) with fuel, 5 when they were seated over it 6 fully conscious of what they are doing to the believers, 7 And they persecuted them for naught save that they believed in Allah, the Mighty, the Praiseworthy 8 Him unto Whom belongeth the Sovereignty of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is of all things the Witness. 9 Indeed those who troubled the Muslim men and Muslim women, and then did not repent – for them is the punishment of hell, and for them is the punishment of fire. 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Indeed, the vengeance of your Lord is severe. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 and He is the All-forgiving, the All-loving, 14 The Lord of the glorious Throne, 15 He does what He intends (or wills). 16 Hast thou received the story of the hosts, 17 Of Pharaoh and the Thamud? 18 Nay! The disbelievers (persisted) in denying (Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him) and his Message of Islamic Monotheism). 19 And Allah, all unseen, surroundeth them. 20 It is indeed a glorious Quran, 21 Inscribed in a tablet preserved. 22
