The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
I swear by the mansions of the stars, 1 by the Promised Day, 2 by the witness and the witnessed, 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 the fire abounding in fuel, 5 while they themselves sat around it 6 and they were witnesses of what they did to the believers 7 Against these they had no grudge except that they believed in Allah, the Most Mighty, the Most Praiseworthy, 8 To Him only belongs the kingship of the heavens and the earth; and Allah is a Witness over all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 Those who believe, and do righteous deeds, for them await gardens underneath which rivers flow; that is the great triumph. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 It is verily He who initiates and repeats. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Affectionate, 14 Owner of the Throne, the Exalted. 15 Doer of what He will. 16 Have you not heard about the stories of the armies 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 Nay, but those who disbelieve live in denial 19 And Allah encompasses them on every side. 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 [Inscribed] in a Preserved Slate. 22
