The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By the heaven, holding the big stars. 1 by the promised day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 The companions of the pit were killed 4 Full of fire fed by faggots, 5 when they were seated around it 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 Him to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth! And Allah is Witness to all things. 9 Those who persecuted the believing men and women and never repented, there is for them the punishment of Gehenna (Hell), and for them the punishment of the burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 Truly strong is the Grip (and Power) of thy Lord. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Have you not heard the story of the hosts 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 And yet, they who are bent on denying the truth persist in giving it the lie: 19 but all the while God encompasses them [with His knowledge and might] without their being aware of it. 20 Nay, but it is a glorious Qur'an. 21 in a guarded tablet. 22
