The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 And by the Promised Day (i.e. the Day of Resurrection); 2 By one that witnesses, and the subject of the witness;- 3 may the people be condemned those who tortured (the believers) in ditches 4 [Containing] the fire full of fuel, 5 when they were seated over it 6 and were themselves witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 Him, Whose is the dominion of heavens and the earth. And Allah is over everything a Witness. 9 Lo! they who persecute believing men and believing women and repent not, theirs verily will be the doom of hell, and theirs the doom of burning. 10 Indeed, those who have believed and done righteous deeds will have gardens beneath which rivers flow. That is the great attainment. 11 Indeed, the seizing of your Lord is severe. 12 Indeed it is He Who initiates and redoes. 13 and He is the Forgiving and Loving One. 14 Lord of the Throne of Glory, 15 and the Most Effective in His decision. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Pharaoh and Thamud come to you? 18 But those who disbelieve are engaged in denial. 19 But Allah doth encompass them from behind! 20 Nay, but this [divine writ which they reject] is a discourse sublime, 21 (Inscribed) in Al-Lauh Al-Mahfuz (The Preserved Tablet)! 22
