The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By heaven of the constellations, 1 and [then bethink thyself of] the promised Day, 2 And by the Day witnessing and the Day witnessed, 3 the people of the pit were destroyed 4 Of the fuel-fed fire, 5 Lo! [With glee do] they contemplate that [fire,] 6 And they were witnesses of what they did with the believers. 7 whom they hated for no other reason than that they believed in God, the Almighty, the Praiseworthy, 8 To whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. And Allah, over all things, is Witness. 9 Those who persecute the believers, men and women, and then have not repented, there awaits them the chastisement of Gehenna, and there awaits them the chastisement of the burning. 10 Lo! those who believe and do good works, theirs will be Gardens underneath which rivers flow. That is the Great Success. 11 The vengeance of God is terribly severe. 12 it is He who begins and repeats [His creation], 13 And He alone is truly-forgiving, all-embracing in His love, 14 The Lord of the Glorious Throne, 15 Who does as He pleases. 16 Did the story of the armies reach you? 17 Of Firon and Samood? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 And Allah is after them, has them surrounded. 20 What is revealed to you is certainly a glorious Quran 21 On a guarded tablet. 22
