The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
22 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Sun (Al-Shams) before The Fig (Al-Teen)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the sky containing great stars 1 and by the promised Day, 2 And by the witness and that whereunto he beareth testimony, 3 Perish the fellows of the ditch, 4 the fire with its fuel, 5 When they were sitting near it 6 Witnessing what they had done to the believers! 7 And they ill-treated them for no other reason than that they believed in Allah, Exalted in Power, Worthy of all Praise!- 8 to Whom belongs the dominion of the heavens and the earth. Allah witnesses everything. 9 Surely (as for) those who persecute the believing men and the believing women, then do not repent, they shall have the chastisement of hell, and they shall have the chastisement of burning. 10 For those who believe and do righteous deeds, will be Gardens; beneath which rivers flow: That is the great Salvation, (the fulfilment of all desires), 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 It is He who creates all things and causes them to return. 13 And He is the Fogiving, the Loving, 14 in sublime almightiness enthroned, 15 The great doer of what He will. 16 Has there reached you the story of the soldiers - 17 of Pharaoh and Thamud? 18 And yet the Unbelievers (persist) in rejecting (the Truth)! 19 While Allah encompasses them from behind. 20 This is indeed the glorious Qur'an 21 (Preserved) on the guarded tablet. 22
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
