The Galaxies (Al-Burooj)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
I CALL TO witness the sky (bespangled) with the signs of the Zodiac, 1 by the promised day, 2 By the witness and the witnessed! 3 slain were the Men of the Pit, 4 the makers of the fuel-stoked fire! 5 Behold! they sat over against the (fire), 6 And to that which they did to the believers were witnesses. 7 And what did they dislike from the Muslims, except that the Muslims accepted faith in Allah the Most Honourable, the Most Praiseworthy? 8 to whom belongs the Kingdom of the heavens and earth. And Allah is the Witness of all things. 9 Verily, as for those who persecute believing men and believing women, and thereafter do not repent, hell's suffering awaits them: yea, suffering through fire awaits them! 10 (But) for those who believe and do good works, for them there are Gardens underneath which rivers flow that is the Great Victory! 11 The grip of your Lord is indeed severe, 12 Lo! He it is Who produceth, then reproduceth, 13 And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, 14 Lord of the Arsh, the Glorious, 15 Executor of His own will. 16 HAS IT ever come within thy ken, the story of the [sinful] hosts 17 Of Fir'aun (Pharaoh) and Thamud? 18 Yet the unbelievers still belie, 19 God encompasses them from all sides. 20 Nay! This is a Glorious Quran, 21 written on a preserved Tablet. 22
