The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and the night-visitor, 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 (It is) the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 God has all power to resurrect him. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 [man] will have no power, and no helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 And I plot a plot (against them). 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
