The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky, and by the nightly comer! 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The very brightly shining star! 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 He is created from a water dripping, 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Surely He (the Creator) has the power to bring him back (to life). 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 He will have no strength or helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 this is indeed a Decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
