The Comet (Al-Taareq)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what will make you know what the comer by night is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no human being but has a protector over him (or her) (i.e. angels incharge of each human being guarding him, writing his good and bad deeds, etc.) 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then will he have no might nor any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And [by] the earth which cracks open, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
