The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
I swear by the heaven and the comer by night; 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star that pierces through [life's] darkness: 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man consider of what he is created: 5 He is created from a water gushing forth. 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 God has certainly power to bring him back (from the dead). 8 On a Day whereon secrets shall be out. 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 it is no merriment. 14 Verily they are plotting a plot. 15 but I too plan against them. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
Almighty God's Truth.
