The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the Morning Star 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is not a soul that does not have a guardian over it. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created from a fluid, ejected, 6 Issuing from (the pelvis) between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Surely, He is Able to bring him back, 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky (having rain clouds) which gives rain, again and again. 11 And by the earth which splitteth, 12 surely it is a decisive word; 13 And it is not a thing for amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 and I am devising guile. 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
True are the words of Allah the Almighty.
