The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 Do you know what al-tariq is? 2 (It is) the star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he was created. 5 He is created from a drop emitted- 6 which comes out of the loins and ribs. 7 Now, verily, He [who thus creates man in the first instance] is well able to bring him back [to life] 8 On the Day when man's deepest secrets shall be put to the test 9 Then man will have no power or any helper. 10 By the rotating heavens 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 the Quran is the final word, 13 And no trifle. 14 They are cunningly devising, 15 and so am I: 16 Therefore give them some respite – give them some time. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
