The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
By oath of the heaven, and by oath of the nightly arriver. 1 - Ah, what will tell thee what the Morning Star is! 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 [for] no human being has been left unguarded. 4 So let man see from what he is created! 5 He was created of spurting water 6 Emerging from between the backbone and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 A day when the secrets will be examined. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the Firmament which returns (in its round), 11 And the earth which opens up (with verdure), 12 Lo! this (Qur'an) is a conclusive word, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 Surely they will make a scheme, 15 But I too am devising a plan. 16 So respite thou the infidels - respite them gently, 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
